The simple version

TradeDossier reports cost $20, one time. If we can't cover your trade, you get a full refund automatically. If your report doesn't arrive within 24 hours, or it contains a material error, tell us and we'll make it right — including a refund.

Refunds

Trade not covered: if you order for a trade we don't yet cover, you receive a full, automatic refund.
Delivery promise: if your report hasn't arrived within 24 hours of ordering, you're entitled to a full refund on request.
Material errors: if your report contains a factual error that affects its usefulness — a wrong price range, a contractor misidentified — tell us within 7 days of delivery and we'll fix it or refund you, your choice.
Not what was promised: if the report doesn't match what's described on this site, reply within 7 days and we'll sort it out, including a refund where appropriate.

To request a refund, just reply to your report email (or your order confirmation). No forms, no hassle.

What you're buying

A one-time research report (PDF) for a single home project: fair-price guidance for your trade and area, three vetted contractor profiles with verdicts, real review excerpts with sources, BBB standing where available, warranty norms, questions to ask, and red flags. One report per order.

What reports are — and aren't

Reports are independent research based on publicly available reviews, ratings, and records. We take no money from contractors.
Contractor data is re-verified on a regular schedule; every report shows its sources and verification dates.
A report is guidance, not a guarantee. We can't promise any contractor will perform well, and we don't warranty their work. Always confirm current reviews, credentials, and insurance before hiring.

Payment

Checkout is processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Prices are in Canadian dollars.

Service area

Reports currently cover Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. Orders outside our coverage area receive a full refund.
